Tiles
Interaction design - 5 weeks - group project w Ole Høknes

Case
Our goal was to reimagine the smartphone as an ambient device.
By surfacing key information, we explore whether users can get what they need without clicks, swipes, or distractions and spend less time interacting with their phone.
Results
Tiles turns your phone into a non-intrusive surface. It has a two-dimensional, flat aesthetic making the screen feel less ‘tappable,’. Tiles encouraging glances rather than interaction.
Key takeaways
Exploring the history of calm computing and ambient devices sparked something in me. The reassuring feeling that technology has the potential to behave differently than it does today.
